Earlier I typed about Hyves and Facebook, and that are new ways to keep in touch with your friends, a so called social network.
Twitter is a new thing. Instead of sending a message every couple of days, with twitter you can send messages every minute. Is this a hype or the beginning of a new lifestyle?

The idea of twitter is that you can send short messages from 140 signs maximum, in which you tell what you are doing or how you are feeling that very moment. The name comes from the sound a bird makes (tweeting) also known as the word for a conversation between, for example women.

Many people say that twitter is just a hype, but is it? Hyves and Facebook also started as hypes but they are still very popular and used social networks. Today we are already letting other people know how we are feeling by these social networks. It is a new, and nice way to find jobs and tell your boss what your capacities are. I think the future isn’t able to deny the power of Twitter and that is why I think that it is more than a hype. That is not bad, if we just keep in mind that just simply visiting each other is maybe a old fashion but, nice way too.

Just like facebook, Hyves is a social network. Though it is a hit in the Netherlands, it is still unknown in the rest of the world. That is because, different from Facebook, Hyves is just connecting Dutch persons, family or friends with each other. The name ,Hyves, comes from the word beehive, and was originally designed for business networks. The idea was to make a network where you could place your curriculum-vitea or work skills. Everybody who was looking for a new job or new employees was able to find each other by simply surfing at hyves.
Launched in 2004 Hyves became an immediate hit for other users then business users, and at this moment, it has over 9 million members.
Hyves has also been used for police investigations, like; kidnappings or robberies. Politic parties are trying to gain members trough this network and though this nowadays is not the way to find a new job. You still have to be careful with what you put on your own account. Pictures from you with too much alcohol, messages with your contention of your new boss, may seem funny or harmless. Be aware of the fact that, as I already told you, over 9 million persons are having an account, so don’t be surprised if your boss is one of them.

A few years ago, the only way to keep in touch with your friends, was by sending letters or by phone. Those days are gone. Social networks are everywhere and everyday new social networks are popping-up. Facebook is one of them, but what does facebook have to offer?

Facebook in short:
Facebook is an global social networking website, where you can send messages to added friends and even strangers. You are having you own personal profile which you can update every single minute. By that profile you can show other visitors what you are doing, or what your interests are. You can upload photo’s and join networks that are organized by you school or sports club.
Even though facebook may seem very common for us, there are still country’s where the use of facebook is illegal and that is not all. This year facebook.inc also has to face several law suits that are involved with private laws.
The beginning:
Facebook was created in 2003 by Mark Zuckerberg as an school project/hobby, but soon a few fellow students were helping him because of the enormous growth. First facebook was created just for students at university, to help them find other students. But now it is the largest world wide social network with over 250milion active user everyday.
